Our up-pipe is still one of the best and first ways to increase the power and throttle response on your Subaru. Why go with a cheap imported imitation when you can have the original? Our uppipe matches the OEM exhaust manifold outlet and OEM turbo inlet. This creates a smoother free flowing exhaust path to the turbo. In turn this reduces spool up time. A benifit to installing a PERRIN uppipe on your 02-05 WRX is that is protects turbo from damage when the OEM EGT probe breaks off. On these years of cars Subaru installed an EGT probe into the stock uppipe. On heavily modded cars this can break off and destroy the turbo! Our Up-Pipe removes this sensor all together. The sensor is perfectly ok to remove as it is not controlling of any other aspect of the car. Included with each uppipe is instructions how to defeat this turbo killing feature of the OEM pipe! Below is the dyno test we did on our 2007 STI limited. This swap wasdone in 45 minutes after the last run. (yes we used gloves!) We onlydid this test as we had spare dyno time. The PERRIN uppipe has provento provide very good gains on off road use 2002-2005 WRX's, were itremoves a very restrictive catalytic convter.
